Transformation of Islamic Education in the Digital Era: Innovation, Modernization, and Local Wisdom

Abstract

Islamic education in Indonesia has undergone significant transformation in line with the advancement of the digital era. Innovations in information technology have reshaped learning methods, teaching media, and education management. This paper aims to analyze how Islamic education adapts through digitalization, explore forms of innovation in its modernization process, and emphasize the importance of preserving local wisdom values throughout. Using a qualitative approach through literature review, the results show that while digitalization enhances access and efficiency in Islamic education, it presents serious challenges in preserving ethical, spiritual, and cultural values that form the foundation of Islamic education.
